Even as cities like Gilbert and Scottsdale are fast turning up as the safest havens in Arizona, a few other places in central Arizona like Pinal County are growing more and more unsafe for its denizens.

Just last day, tons of explosive devices and grenades were unearthed from a San Tan Valley home after the Sheriff's Office raided the place while investigating an alleged assault.

The Sheriff's office received a call from Washington on Sunday from an unknown man who tipped them about a mother who was being threatened by her son at gun point.

A criminal check revealed that 51-year-old Wesley Boles was convicted under felony charges twice in the past and thus, was a prohibited possessor of a firearm.

When the officials and SWAT team raided his home, they discovered '28 firearms, two 37 mm rocket-propelled grenades, five homemade explosive devices, a detonator and thousands of rounds of ammunition'.

Boles has been arrested for assault and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
