At least two people killed in a small plane crash near to Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, the fire and medical personnel informed.
According to a Video from Air15, a small plane had crashed on a road which runs around the perimeter of the airstrip. A single-engine AT-6 crashed on takeoff, Ian Gregor with the Federal Aviation Administration said. The incidence will be investigated by the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board,Gregor said.
A Mesa police spokesman, Steve Berry, said that, the plane took off from the airport and suffered a "mechanical difficulty" when made a right turn and then crashed and caught fire onto the roadway.
Dick Stich, a retired U.S. Air Force pilot and member of the Falcon Warbirds, said that, “I’m sick to my stomach that we lost guys from Falcon Field.” “Our group will offer anything we can do to help those guys out. We’re friends, comrades.”
