A 2-year-old Phoenix boy shot himself as he found gun in a drawer, the Phoenix police and fire officials confirmed.
According to the officials, the toddler was rushed to a hospital after shooting himself. Phoenix fire Capt. Reda Bigler said that, the bullet entered the child's upper leg/groin area.
The kid was conscious and breathing when fire crews arrived, fire Capt said. But, he was taken to a hospital in serious condition, Bigler added.
Sgt. Jonathan Howard, a Phoenix police spokesman, said that, the boy's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The incident took place at a home in the 4000 block of West Yucca Street, near 43rd Avenue and Cholla Street.
The case is investigation by the Police, Howard said.
