The Phoenix Police Department said, a Phoenix man killed his two daughters before killing himself inside their home west of Phoenix.
Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, a police spokeswoman, said a woman called police Sunday night to express concern about the welfare of her ex-husband and their two daughters.
Around the same time, a neighbor of the Tolleson man called 911 to report shots being fired.
“Officers believe that the adult male took the life of the two victims before taking his own life,” Fortune said.
According to the department officials, the officers found a 36-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl dead at the scene. A 4-year-old girl died at a hospital from her injuries. Investigators believe it to be a murder-suicide.
Gilbert Herrera, a neighbor, said he was home Sunday night and heard the shots. "We heard the shots and just thought, 'What the hell?' " he said. "It's a really quiet neighborhood, nothing like this has happened since we moved in three years ago."
Herrera said he never would have expected something like this to happen.
"It came out of nowhere," Herrera said. "If you saw him or talked to him, you would think that everything was perfect. He seemed happy as hell nice house, nice car."
Robles' mother's house sits directly across from the house where the girls were killed.
"You don't know what type of people live around here," Robles said. "Until something like this happens, you think everyone's normal."
