At South Arizona Immigration check point five people were arrested after 44 pounds (20 kg’s) of methamphetamine was found in one vehicle and two men were found hidden in another car.
Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents said that these incidents occurred Tuesday at the Interstate 19 checkpoint. A drug-sniffing dog has alerted the agents about multiple packages of meth worth an estimated of $132,000. Two people were arrested for smuggling narcotics.
Later, agents found two immigrants hiding in the trunk of a car. A 20 year old Tucson Woman was driving the car; she was arrested for human smuggling.
Two men in the vehicle were processed for immigration violation.
