Burglary Suspect And A Police Officer Suffered Injuries From K9 Bite In Mesa

MESA, AZ:
According to Mesa Police officers a burglary suspect and an officer on duty, suffered bite injuries from a police K-9 after an incident involving the burglar early Friday morning.

A burglary was attempted to which Police Officers responded on a 911 call. Police reached a commercial property near Nossaman and Pecos roads around 1:30 am in the wee hours of Friday. Police saw the suspect’s vehicle speeding away from the scene so a Police helicopter was called in. The Helicopter chased the vehicle and the river kept speeding without yielding at the stop sign. The suspect drove through the area of 48th street and Cheyenne in Phoenix where the suspect left the car and fled on foot.

The Officers then searched the area and a Mesa K-9 helped in detaining a suspect. The suspect and an officer though hd bite injuries from the K-9 along. Though the injuries were not severe and both the officer and the suspect were in fine condition. But the Officer uncharge told that both the suspect and officer injured by the bite were taken to hospital for treatment.

Though the investigation is still underway and the identity of the suspect is yet unknown. Police told that the suspect is facing charges of attempted burglary, multiple warrants and other charges related to driving. But the immediate cause of his crime was unknown.

More reports to come in while the investigation proceeds. Meanwhile the hospital has told both of them have non severe injuries and are fine after the examination.
