Phoenix:
The organizing Leaders of the Arizona Educators United (AEU), told the reporters that, the have plans to head back to the work on Thursday if state budget get passed in the State Senate.
They said that, they have pushed their demands to the governor and the state Legislature as far as they could do it.
The spokesperson of Educators United said that
"This movement has brought in a quarter of a billion dollars that no one in January saw would be in the budget so it's a huge success”, to the media reporters present at the protesting venue.
The Walkout protests continued to the fourth day on Tuesday, and it appears to be the final walkout will be on Wednesday.
Another representative from the AEU, Rebecca Garelli who is working as teacher in Alhambra elementary School, and helped to organize the walkout from the grass root that pushed the RedForEd Movement told reporters that “But it’s time for us to get back to our students in our classrooms and schools and continue the fight for the additional resources our students need. If lawmakers do their job and get this budget passed by Thursday, then we commit to return to our classrooms by then,"
Organizers said that the walkout was success with effect of participation of 150,000 people that hit the streets during the past four days in downtown of phoenix and increased funds promised for education.
The number of people who protested may be up for debate as other agencies have put the numbers closer to 70,000.
As another AEUr leading teacher , Noah Karvelis said that, "Before this movement started, lawmakers wouldn’t renew Prop 301. After we announced the walkout, they renewed it,”
Although, it seems to appear as a similar budget that republican Gov Doug Ducey has rolled out two weeks ago for which the AEU didn’t get satisfied at that point of time.
