Gov Doug Ducey , expressed his displeasure on Monday saying that he didn’t understand the cause behind teachers walkout organized by Arizona Educators United, despite his efforts  accepting  the given pay raise plan to about 20 percent

Doug Ducey told on the Mike Broomhead show broadcast on KFYI as follows

“I don’t know why the leaders would say that they’re going to strike when we are delivering for the teachers on what we believe they deserve,”

Ducey also exclaimed that the leaders may not be really representing teachers who take care of kids every day and being responsible towards heir parents.

A recent vote which was jointly conducted by Arizona Educators United and the grass root teachers group resulted in taking decision by majority as of 78 percent teachers

The result was taken based on the votes of 57,000 teachers and other school employees, the teachers group has series of serious demands one among those were for the immediate raise of pay to 20 percent, and the other demands include to increase pay to their supporting staff and the final demand is to restore educational dollars that was axed previous year and stop collecting taxes until the educational funding reaches national average.

Amid of all above statements Gov Ducey calls for only 9 percent of pay raise next year and then 5 percent of raise in the following two years and the 1 percent of raise would be coupled which was already given that would effectively reach 20 percent by the year 2020 .

Ducey said that the state Finance Advisory Committee has released a report explaining the strength of state’s economy, on the same day he also said that the optimistic fore cast was released by Federal Congressional Budget to formulate a plan adding both the reports together.
