Meta platform is over on its own Threads platform, which was launched on Wednesday and got 30 million sign-ups. This has created tremors in Elon Musk’s Twitter. Elon Musk’s lawyer Alex Spiro has sent a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg threatening a lawsuit against Threads claiming that Meta hired Twitter employees and created a clone of it.
Spiro wrote a letter on behalf of X Corp, as successor in interest to Twitter, Inc (Twitter), He said Meta platforms has engaged in systemic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property. He also said Meta has hired dozens of Twitter employees even by knowing that these employees previously worked at Twitter and had access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other highly confidential information. Twitter also claim that these employees owe ongoing obligations to Twitter and that these employees assigned these documents and electronic devices. He claims that Meta is a copycat and is a violation of both state and federal law.
Twitter demanded Threads to immediately stop using Twitter trade secrets. Spiro asked to take the letter as a formal notice to Meta.
