In a statement that was issued through social media, Hardik said, "PAAS will stage protests at all talukas and villages by giving lollipops and chocolates to Patidars decrying the government's package."
His message soon triggered lollipop protests in several parts of Gujarat.
Meanwhile, in another video message posted in social media, the Patidar community was requested by Hardik to mark 25 August as Patidar kranti day as well as 26 August as the Patidar martyrs' day. Hardik’s supporters were appealed by him for the organization of diya (lamp) rallies on 26 September as a mark to one month of Patidars’ death in police action when violence erupted following the mega rally on 25 August 2015.
