There were many speculations moving around trump’s rally that he would announce pardon to maricopa country Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio in the rally. But Trump didn’t pardon him but he signaled that he was prepared to pardon former sheriff.
Former sheriff was convicted of criminal contempt for disregarding an Arizona’s judge’s order in 2011 to stop his anti- immigration traffic patrols, and trump has previously in an interview told that he was “seriously Considering” pardoning Arpaio.
However, on Tuesday white house press secretary Sarah Huckabee told reporters that there would be no discussion of pardon, and no action on that will be taken on that front in the event.
Trump regarding pardon said, “So was sheriff Joe convicted for doing his job?” he asked the crowd and said, I will make prediction: I think he is just going to be fine, okay?, but I won’t do it tonight because I don’t want cause any controversy. But sheriff Joe should feel good.
Trump’s speech lasted an hour, he expressed his frustration regarding his efforts to negotiate with Canada and Mexico to improve NAFTA, saying he was more likely to terminate the deal, and he also blamed “obstructionist Democrats” for standing in way for U.S- Mexico border wall funding and suggested a government shutdown is needed to force there cooperation.
He also called Media “Sick people” who refused to report properly on his previously recounted series of statements he made in the days following the melee in Charlottesville, asserting that he “spoke out forcefully about bigotry and hate”.
“You know where my heart is” saying that he read the first of three statements on the violence pulling out the copy from suit coat. He also blamed media for providing a platform to hate groups that were central to the violence in Virginia that led to 3 deaths.
At the start of his remarks he said “You were there from the start, you’ve been there every single day since, and believed me, Arizona, I will never forget it.
The convention center was partially filled and Trump was given a heroic welcome from the supporters who chanted USA! USA!USA! And waved signs that read, “Drain the Swamp”, “Make America strong again” and “Make America proud again”.
Addressing the crowed trump has said “The country will buy American, and hire American”, and also said that future belongs to Americans, “We will make Americans strong again”.
