Team India is touring in Zimbabwe and the first one-day international took place in the Harare Sports Club last evening. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Zimbabwe tumbled down for 189 in 40.3 overs after most of the top-order batsmen failed to stand before the pace of the Indian bowlers. Regis Chakabva (35), Richard Ngarava (34) and Brad Evans (33 not out) are the top scorers for the side. Axar Patel (3/24), Deepak Chahar (3/27) and Prasidh Krishna (3/50) are the best spells among the Indian bowlers.
Chasing an easy target of 190, Team India completed the chase without losing a wicket. The chase was completed in 30.5 overs. Shubman Gill (82 not out) and Shikar Dhawan (81 not out) complete the chase for Team India. All the Zimbabwe bowlers were expensive. Deepak Chahar has been named as the Player of the Match. KL Rahul has been leading the team after several star players are asked to rest as there is a hectic cricket season for Team India. The second ODI between India and Zimbabwe will take place tomorrow and the final ODI will take place on Monday.
