ASU football suffered a recent loss! They lost their former deputy Mike Norvell. Instead  they have got a new Deputy Head Coach.

"No badges. No badges being worn today. It's a great day for me and my family," said a smiling Norvell after being asked about the “Deputy” designation. “Obviously it shows a tremendous amount of commitment to where our program is going to. This year, we got to the doorstep.”

Did the up and coming offensive mind receive serious job inquiries from major programs searching for a coordinator? Yes. Did Norvell also receive serious interest from schools searching for a head coach? Yes again, according to Todd Graham.

“He’s a hundred percent committed. I’m a hundred percent committed to building a national power here,” said the ASU head coach.

“I am committed to the long-term success of this program under the leadership of Todd Graham,” school president Dr. Michael Crow said in a statement. “Rewarding the skills of a master teacher like Mike Norvell is a demonstration of that commitment. Coach Norvell's performance as offensive coordinator has been nationally recognized, and this promotion reflects the remarkable track record he has established in the last two years at ASU.”
