With the advent of WhatsApp, people have had a very streamlined mode of communication without having to go out of their way to pay for the same. While there has been a plethora of positives with this application, the same is believed to have brought quite a good chunk of negatives with it too, the lack of privacy being one. Owing to the chats being open, the screenshot feature has been very prevalent on this specific social media platform.
But, a recent report about a forthcoming update of WhatsApp is believed to block the chat screenshots and everyone is losing their minds. While this application has been undergoing quite a good chunk of upgrades and changes over the course of months, the same is about to undergo a few more.
As we very well have heard news about, this Facebook owned social media application is soon going to have its dark mode for the Android users. Not just that, the developers is apparently also working on the animated emojis. Amidst them all, the one update that has left everyone in a trance of shock is the possibility of blocking out the chat screenshots.
In a report issued by WeBetaInfo last month, they stated saying that they are working on a specific authentication feature for the Android users which will allow them to natively lock the application using the fingerprint scanner on their devices. A new updated to this report suggests that the developers are planning to add a functionality that would block any of the users to take screenshots of the chats when the said feature is enabled.
It seems more like a hassle than a boon because enabling the feature doesn’t mean that the receiver won’t be able to take screenshots of the chat but only you. That being said, one good thing about this is the fact that enabling this authentication feature will actually help in helping the users answer the messages or calls even when the app is locked. The feature or the authentication process is actually still under development and doesn’t have any expected date of release as such.
In order to make the application more interactive, the developers are also focusing on enhancing the Doodle feature. They are adding in more stickers and interactive emojis to make the experience even better for the users.
The latest addition of the “search” feature for the sticker and the emoji search is most definitely one of the amazing factors that is skyrocketing its success altogether. There is still a doubt whether or not the chat screenshot feature on WhatsApp is going to be added or not, so all we can do is just wait and watch!
