Superstar Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas worked twice in the past for Athadu and Khaleja. They did not team up together due to the creative differences between the duo. After 12 years, Trivikram and Mahesh decided to work together and the film was announced last year. The shoot is delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the film got its grand launch today. The movie is named as SSMB28 and the regular shoot commences in April. The entire pre-production work is completed and Trivikram also locked the actors and technicians for this untitled film.

The film will have Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. There are talks that Samyuktha Menon may be seen as the other leading lady. Thaman is on the board to compose the music and background score. S Radha Krishna (China Babu) will produce this prestigious project on Haarika and Hassine Creations banner. There are lot of speculations that this would be a pan-Indian film. The makers are expected to issue a clarification about the same soon. Mahesh Babu who recovered from coronavirus will resume the shoot of Sarkaru Vaari Paata in the direction of Parasuram. The film is announced for May 12th 2022 release.
