A solar -powered airplane, Solar Impulse 2 is set to open for public viewings at the Phoenix Goodyear Airport this week. The airplane is making a historic trip across the world.
The long awaited solar -powered plane reached in the Phoenix area on Monday. The plane does not uses any fuel except solar energy. Earlier, the officials said that, Solar Impulse 2 would not be open for public due to departing issue, however, the plane is delayed in the city for the next week.
According to a post on the plane's official blog, "After receiving an email from our mission director saying we wouldn’t be flying before next Monday, the first thing we did was set up a public visit day for everyone in Phoenix and around to be able to come see the plane."
Solar Impulse 2 is expected to be open for public visits on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the plane's hangar at Phoenix Goodyear Airport, 1658 S. Litchfield Road, in Goodyear.
Tickets are free, but limited and visitors need to register in advance for the visit.
