Activists Denounce Police Aggressive Behavior After Trump’s Rally On Tuesday

On Tuesday Trump’s rally was peaceful conducted, most of the protesters were peaceful, but post rally police used tear gas on protesters.
Activists said that police behavior was aggressive and violent mostly during post rally, but the police say that someone from the crowd has thrown water bottles, and other projectiles at police.
Police officials say that department appropriately used gas and pepper spray to disperse the protesters after officials were struck with items thrown by protesters.
Activists say that it was unnecessary to use pepper spray, pepper balls and tear gas at protesters when the protest was going peacefully.
One the member present at the scene has said that, it was first the crowd that threw bottles at the police, and some one from the crowd even throw a tear gas also.
The situation that led to usage of the force was due to a small group, in a crowd of more than 10000 people, after all the objects were thrown, the front line repeatedly moved forward. As the crowd resists pepper spray was deployed.
“We were terrorized” said Carlos Garcia with puente human rights movement, “We were attacked by Phoenix police department, they came in as if I was a war zone”.
On Wednesday several groups of activists came together to denounce the department and demand an explanation.
Phoenix police chief Jeri Williams, however sees the incident in a different light.
“The officers didn’t rush into the crowd, they were clear, methodical they were calculated, they worked hard and gave an opportunity to self disperse, but many choose to not do it”.
In this incident 4 were arrested, and 2 officers injured.
