On Monday, the native currency rupee has gained over the US Dollar in the early trade to end at Rs 53.80. The slight gain of 14 paise in the currency has been attributed to the heavy sale of the green by exporters fuelled by the foreign capital inflow.
Euro has also strengthened against the dollar. The higher opening in the domestic equity market has been an added factor bolstering the local currency, the foreign exchange dealers said. On the last session on Friday, rupee was down by 13 paise closing at Rs 53.94.
Nifty, BSE have also fared well in early trade today. The BSE benchmark improved slightly by 39.42 points gaining 0.20% to reach 19,615.06 in early trade today. The NSE benchmark on the other hand had a 0.17% growth with 9.95 points more than where it left off on Friday. It gained to peg in at 5,953.95 at the end of early trade.
Several analysts said that with a stabilizing trend in Asia during the gains at weekends over the US markets, they fared better.
