Warner who has devastated the initial Indian attack in the last test series in Australia, preferred to stay back for the home series than play for cash strapped IPL.
David Warner preferred playing for Australia than playing in IPL for a lucrative sum. The seasoned batsman, who ruined Indian attack recently, was appreciated by the press for his decision. He also is quoted to have said that his preference for playing in the national side was his childhood dream and he would never consider Twenty 20 IPL, in case he had to miss his national representation. Warner was a regular in the IPL. Australia will be touring West Indies from April 17 for the test series.
`My goal as a kid was to get the baggy green and I'm here at this moment opening the batting,’ Warner was quoted as saying by The Age. `I'm trying to take my opportunity and trying to cement my place there. I'm 100 per cent Test cricket over IPL any day.’ He added.
Till here it was fine, but had he been more diplomatic on few West Indians preferring IPL over the forth coming series, would have been much appreciated. The Australian let his tongue unchecked when he commented, `They've (West Indians) got to make their minds up on what they want and what they're benefiting out of it - if it's money, then it's money. It's their choice.’ Incidentally West Indies would be missing spinner Sunil Narine and Batsman Marlon Samuels in their three Test series against Oz. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
