WhatsApp experiencing frequent addition of features. As rumored about a feature calling “disappearing messages” back in October, the feature has now been spotted in the latest version 2.19.275 of WhatsApp Beta for android.
The feature has been renamed to “Delete messages” and it lets the users to delete the messages after a selected amount of time i.e., either an hour, day, week, month or year.
As per WABetaInfo which is a blog site that tracks the developments taking place in WhatsApp, says that this feature is to reduce the storage being consumed by the group message conversations on the smart phones. As the feature “Delete messages” can be accessible by the administrator of the group chat, the setting would get applied to all the participants who are included in the group.
Initially, the feature only supported the group chats but now, it has been added to the private chats as well.
