Sri Murali Kandual and Jyotshna Ji are sponsoring a Maha Prasadam event at Ekata Mandir on April 23rd.
People of Indian Diaspora can visit the temple and volunteer their services in the Maha Prasad. People can also cook or bring Prasad for devotees as part of special seva to the temple; the sponsoring devotees will get special blessings from the temple priests in way of a special Pooja.
The Importance of preparing Prasadam:
Prasadam effectively immunizes one against the contamination of the material nature. The Prasadam frees one from becoming a ghost after death, and even it is considered ecstatic nectar from the lips of Lord Krishna.
The practice of preparing food, offering it to the Deity and distributing it to the devotees should be extended universally to stop sinful eating habits as well as other behavior befitting only demons. When the people take to eating only prasadam offered to the Deity, all the demons will be turned into Vaishnavas. It is then and then only that a peaceful condition can prevail in society.
As prasadam is a sanctified food and should be eaten with respect, we speak of eating prasadam as “honoring” or “respecting” it.
Ekta Mandir welcomes the people of the Indian community to Maha Prasadam on Sunday, April 23.
