Gov. Ducey declares Public Health Emergency over COVID-19 in Arizona

The Governor Doug Ducey has issued a declaration on Wednesday regarding the public health emergency for Arizona due to the continuing concerns of the coronavirus outbreak.
The declaration is said to provide the flexibility in enhancing the safety protocols for the hospitals and the health care and would also provide the health officials with additional medical supplies.
It has been announced by the State health officials regarding the three new cases of coronavirus in Arizona with the total number increasing to nine.
Arizona is said to be one among the several states who have issued a public health emergency an increase in the number of people getting infected by the deadly novel coronavirus is being increased across the nation.
The Governor has said in a press conference that chances are not been taken as they have been anticipating additional positive cases. He added saying that, “This is about public health and protecting lives.”
Doug Ducey has also announced an executive order which is said to aim at protecting the at- risk populations.
It is said to require an enhanced symptom check for all the workers of the health care and also the visitors and it is also said to add new requirements for the insurance companies.
The Governor Ducey has said that more protections would be added for the population which is said to be at- risk i.e., the population of above eighty years of age and also the ones with preexisting conditions.
It has been said that the state of Arizona is receiving $11.2 million of the $560 million in grants which is awarded by the CDC in order to combat the deadly disease which is caused by getting infected by the novel coronavirus or the COVID-19, where as the state has initially received $500,000 in funding in order to stop the virus from spreading.
The health officials have issued the following recommendations in order to help in curbing the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus and also the other diseases which spread through the respiratory droplets including flu.
- Wash your hands frequently by using soap and water while rubbing your hands for at least twenty seconds in each wash and if there is no availability of water and soap, use an alcohol- based hand sanitizer and make sure that your hands are clean at all times.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth areas
- Stay away from the people who are sick and avoid direct contact with the people who are suffering from flu etc.
- Isolate yourself at home while you are sick and avoid going to public places
- Make sure you use a tissue to cover your cough or sneeze and throw the tissue away.
- Clean the furniture or the objects that are frequently touch, by using a disinfectant.
- Avoid going to crowded places and attending public gatherings.
