India Association of Phoenix is setting stage for a big event, Discover India 2015, on 1 November 2015 in Arizona. The event is designed to touch various forms of Indian art like classical music, folk dances, and regional dances and so on. Audience will get to cherish special Oriya dance forms, including classical Odissi form and Oriya folk dance. Sonali Chatterjee from the ‘Dance is my passion’ school would perform classical Odissi dance for the patriotic song ‘Vande mataram’. Oriya folk dance would be performed by a group of female dancers for the song rangabati. Participants of the group include Sonali Chatterjee, Monalisa Mondalayyapparaj, Sanidhya Samal, and Ahana Ayyapparaj.
Oriya diaspora is well distributed in several countries around the world. They are in significant numbers in the US as well. Oriya immigrants always remained attached to their invaluable culture. It is well expressed in the occasions of the traditional festivals and ceremonies. The event of Discover India 2015 is a great stage for them to enjoy their traditional dance forms and feel a sense of pleasure of being a member of the great civilization.
This is not it at the Discover India 2015 event, as it would be graced by popular artists and features varied performances from several local artists of different dance and music schools. All the local artists thus get a good stage to show off their talent as well as an opportunity to secure the Indian art, while Indian Diaspora gets a chance to get that sense of attachment with their culture and tradition.
